Educational Program 6B03105 Regional Studies
The objective of the "Regional Studies" educational program is to train highly qualified specialists with deep knowledge and skills in analyzing and researching regional processes, the development characteristics of various regions of the world, and the ability to apply this knowledge in practice to address current issues in international relations, economic development, cultural exchange, and intercultural interaction. The main goals of the program include: forming theoretical knowledge in geography, history, economics, politics, and culture of different regions of the world; developing analytical skills, research capabilities, and critical analysis of regional processes and problems; preparing for practical activities in international relations, regional policy, and the economic and social development of regions; developing intercultural communication skills for effective interaction with representatives of different cultures; strengthening research competencies for conducting independent scientific research; and preparing for a successful career in government institutions, international organizations, research institutes, educational institutions, and business structures operating at the international level.

The key learning outcomes of the "Regional Studies" program include: deep knowledge in geography, history, economics, politics, and culture of various regions of the world; the ability to critically analyze and evaluate regional processes and problems, mastery of data collection and analysis methods for conducting independent research; the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to solve practical problems in international relations, regional policy, economic and social development of regions, readiness to develop and implement projects for interregional cooperation; high skills in intercultural communication for effective interaction with representatives of different cultures and regions; the ability to conduct scientific research, formulate research questions, develop methodologies, and present results in the form of scientific publications and reports; readiness for professional activities in government institutions, international organizations, research institutes, educational institutions, and business structures, possessing the necessary knowledge and skills for a successful career in various fields related to regional studies.
Professional Activity Spheres
A bachelor graduate of the "Regional Studies" educational program is prepared to work in various spheres of professional activity, including government institutions, international organizations, research institutes, educational institutions, and business structures. Specific government bodies where they can apply their knowledge and skills include the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Trade and Integration, the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, among others.

Object of professional activity: The future graduate can do professional activities in following areas: diplomatic and consular missions, ministries and departments of the RK, National Funds, city and regional akimats, leading Kazakhstan and foreign research institutes, higher educational institutions, Kazakhstan branches of leading foreign universities, foreign universities and international organizations in the UN system.
Functions of professional activity
-Research: the selection of adequate research methods of methods, techniques and research techniques; analysis of the collected information and interpretation of the results; research activities in the field of studying theoretical and applied problems of regional development;
-сonsulting and expert: qualified advice on the global and regional processes of the modern world; expert assessment on various aspects of the socio-political and economic development of regions; determination and justification of interests and positions of Kazakhstan, as well as countries of the region of specialization;
-аnalytical: carrying out information-analytical and informationbibliographic work on the countries of the region of specialization using modern technologies; the use of modern technologies in analytical work for the analysis of regional processes; analysis of current trends and processes in the framework of regional and world politics, foreign policy and the internal political situation in the region of specialization;
-рreparation of analytical dossiers for individual countries and regions, organizations, actors using sources in Russian and foreign languages, including the language of the region of specialization.
